Truth is, you are not the only one struggling with oily skin.

The number of times I have had to pat my face dry in a single day is more than I can count. I have this not-so-unique ability to look like a shiny glazed donut one hour after getting out of the shower. And no, I do not consider this a superpower.

It's simply annoying.

Lucky for us, I stumbled upon a solution.

You may have noticed the increased interest in clay masks recently, if not, there has been one, and for good reason too.

Clay is one of the best no-fuss oil control methods that is taking over the skincare space. Applying a clay mask will not only absorb the excess oils on your face but also grime leaving you with a mattified, nourished look.

So how do they work exactly?

Clays absorb excess oil from the skin. Bentonite clay which works wonders for oily skin when mixed with water becomes negatively charged and attracts excess sebum and dirt from the skin, sort of like a magnet.

Hot tip though, you don’t want to leave a clay mask for too long on your face. Because of how potent it is, it can absorb all of your good facial oils and leave your skin feeling raw and dry.

If you have really oily skin, add a clay mask to your skincare routine and you will see results.

Remember to only use it a few times a week. You don’t want to strip your skin of everything.

Thank you for reading. May your skin be glowing and your coffee be strong. Take care!
